I kind of interpret many post on here as acknowledging that we're reaching a market peak, in general, which is a well-supported thesis, and so if you've been sitting back chill while the gains roll in because bull market, well, time for traders to stay sharp, many are expecting volatility, probably a sharp downturn, smart traders should check their risk management is in shape, time to pay attention. The timing of his post vs what I know about the market supports that well enough. But yeah, the post could mean anything.....managed to grow a nest egg of around 100k to a decent 432k in the space of a few months... To me there is a great deal of rubbish in this report. I am no economist but if you have for example three people chasing two items as against two people chasing three of the same/similar items there must be a significant result difference between them depending on how required those items are. In other words scarce means, unlimited wants, choice, result. And eventually nowhere to go.

The inflation matrix is not accurate. When previous inflation calculation is different from now. Its not even close to 2% if u revert back to previous calculation that form the past results.

However, Howard Marks, who is a credit markets expert, started his Sea Change reflections after taking a 25% drawdown in the credit markets in 2022. Instead of working on his Sea Change Memo in late 2022-early 2023, he should have been working on going long equities late 2022-early 2023. He knows the math: it’s been a sea change bull market for the stock pickers that saw the opportunity at that time.

Historically, stock prices usually drop during rate cuts and rise when the cuts stop. The S&P 500 is already 20% overvalued and will likely continue to rise until the Fed starts cutting. If I had to guess, they will start rate cuts in November or December and continue through next year which means the market could correct by 30-40% during 2025.

The vix is a broken indicator. I don’t rely on it. It also goes down long term. People sit around all day and short the vix. I don’t ignore it entirely but it doesn’t have a good coorlation to the market

AI stocks will dominate 2024. Why I prefer NVIDIA is that they are better placed to maintain long term growth potential, and provide a platform for other AI companies. I know someone who has made more than 200% from NVIDIA. I'll also take these other recommendations you made.

The movie did not mention at the time banks were under pressure to lend money to people with bad or no credit so they could buy houses in the name of fairness and opportunity.

Most people don´t understand what Howard Marks said. They follow gurus. Most people thing the person who get rich in the stock markets is the person who knows what is going to do the markets in the future. They want to believe it, they dont´want to recognize that the Stock Markets is a ramdom game
